Ian Bradwell

Liberal Democrat Parliamentary candidate for Mid Leicestershire

Ian joined the Liberal Democratic party as they were the only party to oppose the ill fated and costly invasion of Afganistan.in 2001. He has been active in the party over the past 20 years even though he has various disabilities. He has championed social issues such as the 'Friends of Branstone Park' and the £49m regeneration of the Braunstone estate where he worked as a director of the Braunstone Community Association. His biggest achievement was helping to deliver the new GP centre for Braunstone.

he is an active Christian and is part of the leadership team at his local Baptist church in which he was until recently part of the music group, playing the drums.

Ian is passionate about ensuring the NHS has the resources to deliver its services at the point of need and has recent experience of the best of its care as he was critically ill during the COVID epidemic.

Care for the environment is also a major driver for Ian as he laments the state of our rivers and coasts. He says that there is no option for mankind other than to decarbonise and maintain and improve our planet for future generations.

The Liberal Democrat ideals of Diversity which includes Equity and Equality  are also fundamental to Ian's beliefs. As a disabled man he has campaigned for representation and respect for all who are held back by society due to their disabilities or different abilities.

Ian would use his experience as a man with different abilities and wide experience of social action to represent the people of Mid Leicestershire.
