New Bus Station for Bedford - Building Works to Commence on Monday
Works to demolish Bedford Bus Station begin on Monday 27th January. The works are part of the much-anticipated regeneration project which will see a brand new bus station built and opened later this year, bringing to an end decades of disappointment at the way this current gateway to Bedford lets the town down. Bedford Borough Council is working with bus operators to minimise disruption during the period of construction of the brand new Bedford Bus Station, and is making information available as widely as possible prior to its commencement on Monday 27th January. Tomorrow, 22nd January, sees the second of two bus station information road shows in Church Square, from 9.30am to 3.30pm, while details of the project and the interim arrangements during construction are available online at www.bedford.gov.uk/busstation.

Speeding in Worthen and Brockton
The police have undertaken two enforcement sessions outside Worthen school since Christmas booking a total of 13 speeding motorists. Heather said " I am encouraging them to make this a regular event so that it gets through to the most irresponsible driver that they cant speed through Brockton and Worthen!"

Community Wildlife Groups - Action to halt the Decline of Curlew and Lapwing
According to "The State of the UK's Birds 2013", Curlews declined by 62% between 1970 and 2011, and by 45% between 1995 and 2011. The results of the Shropshire Bird Atlas 2008-13 show a big contraction of range locally since 1985-90, and the Upper Onny Wildlife Group has found an 18% decline between 2004 and 2012.
