Lynne Backs Downs Road Owl Sanctuary

Lynne Beaumont has lent her support to Folkestone Owl Sanctuary, who risk closure due to lack of funds. The Downs Road sanctuary costs over £250 a week to run. Owner Brian Maxted is appealing for donations to sponsor the birds.

Charity Bag Collections are not always quite what they seem. A recent check by Surrey Trading Standards found that collectors may get over £1000 per tonne for donated textiles, yet some donate as little as £40 per tonne to charity.

Bentham & Robinson to host meeting on parking in north Chelmsford

A meeting to discuss possible parking restrictions in the Broomfield Road area is being held on 13 November. Local Lib Dem City Councillor Paul Bentham and County Councillor Stephen Robinson will be there to hear residents views. The disussion will concentrate on the particular problems in First Avenue and Fell Christy.
