The government has announced an extra £35 million for Council to help with changes in housing benefit. In April the Council changed housing benefit so that they no longer subsidised people with what was thought to be extra bedrooms - the so called bedroom tax. At the time the governemnt pledged £150 million over 2 years to allow Councils to help in individual cases. They have now announced an extra £35 million to help with this.
