Tim takes radiotherapy case to Secretary of State - and get results

Tim Farron met with the Secretary of State for Health, Jeremy Hunt, this evening to press the case for Kendal to get a radiotherapy unit. The Secretary of State was extremely positive and agreed to write to commissioners to make key clarifications on policy and funding that will enable the commissioners to take the bid forward.

Planning: Brentwood Lib Dems NOT for hire

In response to the Daily Telegraph article "Councillors for hire who give firms planning advice" that exposes councillors who charge consultancy fees of up to £20,000 to developers, Brentwood Liberal Democrat councillors would like to make it clear that they have never been, are not and never will be "for hire" to developers.

Report in the Lancet

Musculoskeletal conditions are the greatest cause of disability in the UK according to a report published in The Lancet on 5th March 2013. A landmark study of the burden of all diseases (The Global Burden of Disease Study 2010) provides indisputable evidence that musculoskeletal conditions are an enormous and increasing problem in the UK as well as globally and, Arthritis Care believes, need to be given the same priority for policy and resources as other major conditions like cancer, mental health and cardiovascular disease.
