Should planning laws be relaxed ?

Barnet Council is proposing to consult on Government plans to ease the rules for a three year period, on developments including home extensions of up to eight metres. This compares with current 3-4 metre limit on extensions without planning permission.

Cumbrian broadband gets European green light

South Lakes MP Tim Farron has today welcomed the news that the UK's rural rollout of fast broadband has been given a boost as the European Union's competition commissioner has approved the state-funded scheme. This issue has been the main reason given by the County Council for the failure to start the project so far.
