Under the scheme disabled and elderly residents of the County get free public transport. The scheme itself is divided between a statuary element and a local discretionary element.
After a long campaign lobbying NEXUS, we are pleased to report that work will start next month on refurbishing Chillingham Road Metro station. We have been pressing transport bosses to improve Chillingham Road for a number of years, and are delighted that the station will be one of the first outside of the city centre to benefit from an upgrade, as part of a major programme to improve the network.
