STOCKTON MUST PROMOTE ITS RAIL HERITAGE TO ATTRACT VISITORS

"Many residents of Stockton Borough have told me over the years that they feel that we have failed to 'sell' our area as the birthplace of the railways," said Liberal Democrat Councillor Alan Lewis. "Liberal Democrats in Darlington have succeeded in getting their Council to review what it is doing. Stockton is currently looking at the marketing of Stockton's visitor attraction."

20mph zones can cut casualties by 40%

A report in the Independent suggests that road casualties could be cut by 40% by the introduction of 20mph limits in built-up areas. 20mph zones also have strong support amongst voters according to a ComRes opinion poll.

A public meeting will be held at Chirbury Parish Hall at 5pm on Wednesday 2nd January to discuss the above.
