A property development scheme partly using railway land and aimed at providing more than 1,000 student units - the so-called CB1 Development - has generated significant funds to improve Cambridge Station. £4.25 million has been released by Brookgate, the Cambridge based company behind CB1, as part of a land deal with Network Rail and a 3-way agreement between Brookgate, Network Rail and Cambridge City Council.

A government Inspector has rejected the appeal by Rosebery School against the borough council's refusal of changes to the conditions of the planning permission for its sports hall and all weather sports pitch. The school wanted to allow public use out of school hours, including flood lighting of the outdoor sports pitch.
Liberal Democrat County Councillors, Nick Hollinghurst, representing Tring & the Villages, and Ron Tindall, representing Hemel Hempstead St Pauls, have been re-elected.
