Councillor Alan Taylor, the Leader of Rochdale Council attended a meeting of AGMA (Association of Greater Manchester Authorities) to discuss Congestion Charging on Friday. One thing he got stung for was driving, albeit car sharing with Roger Ellis, the Chief Executive of Rochdale Borough Council.

Bottled Water cuts sprung on local company!

Leader of Rochdale Council - Councillor Alan Taylor has condemned Councillor Ashley Dearnley as 'an opportunist with no bottle' - and has expressed his surprise that Councillor Dearnley didn't even contact Wardle Spring Water, a company in Councillor Dearnley's Ward to tell them of his plans. The loss of contract would lead to job losses and Councillor Taylor said that 'was unacceptable.'

Lib Dems Welcome Hospital U-turn on Police Posts

Cornwall's five Liberal Democrat MPs today expressed support for the saving of the two Police posts at the Royal Cornwall Hospital. The posts were due to be scrapped after an announcement last December, but in a surprise reverse decision, their contract has been renewed for another year.

Blair interviewed again by police in Cash for Honours investigation

Tony Blair has been questioned for a second time by police investigating cash-for-honours allegations. Mr Blair's official spokesman said the prime minister was not interviewed under caution and was not accompanied by a lawyer. The prime minister was first questioned as a witness in December.
