Five psychiatric disorders 'linked'

Autism, attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder, bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder and schizophrenia all share several genetic risk factors, according to a major study. Versions of four genes increased the odds of all five disorders. Researchers hope to move the psychiatry away from describing symptoms towards fundamentally understanding what is going wrong in the brain. The findings were reported in the Lancet medical journal.

Mulholland secures the PM backing for whizz kidz "Generation Inspired" Report

Greg Mulholland MP (Leeds North West), has called on the Prime Minister to welcome Whizz Kidz 'Generation Inspired?' report, as a great opportunity to use the Paralympic games legacy to improve the lives of young disabled people. Greg then joined Whizz-Kidz beneficiary and double gold Paralympic medallist Hannah Cockroft MBE and two Whizz-Kidz Ambassadors - Kidz-Board representative Joel Connor-Saunders and aspiring wheelchair racer Charlotte Moore to present the report to number 10 Downing Street.

More consultation needed on licenses - Cllr Bill Crooks

A music license (for concerts) has been granted to Gopsall Hall Farm near to the small hamlet of Bilstone, in Hinckley and Bosworth. The licence is for up to 200 people in the first year to attend concerts and if the concert is successful the licence would then advance for up to 5000 people over a four year period. The application asked for up to 6 events a year.
