The sheer quantity of raw sewage being dumped into Britain’s rivers and coastal areas is a scandal and a disgrace.
The by election was caused by the death of the former Liberal Democrat councillor, John Lythgoe, and was heavily contested by the Liberal Democrats, Conservatives and by UKIP. The campaigns were followed with keen interest by the electorate and the turnout of 25% was reasonably high for a town council by election. The result (shown below) restores the position of two Liberal Democrats and 13 Conservatives on Berkhamsted Town Council.
