"Clear your own drains" says Wiltshire Council.
Following criticism of its complacent approach to keeping roadside drains clear, Wiltshire Council in a note to councillors claims to have improved its performance. The number of gully-gulpers has been increased from only three to only six. The council also blames the 'rural nature' of the county as a reason for drains silting up. They suggest that people should clear drains on the roads themselves if they're careful. Here's the full message from WC:

Encouraging Employment Figures Show Our Economy is Recovering
Employment figures released by the Office of National Statistics (ONS) show further encouraging signs that our economy is recovering. In the quarter to August, unemployment fell by 154,000 to 1.97m. This is largest fall in unemployment since records began.

Reckless failure to support A&E services
Lib Dem Rochester and Strood by election candidate Geoff Juby hit out at the failure of Mark Reckless, the Conservative MP for Rochester & Strood who recently switched to UKIP, to deal with local issues this weekend.
