Fighting to save the 467 bus
The threat to the 467 bus route was discussed at the recent meeting of SCC's Epsom & Ewell Local Committee. They unanimously passed a motion proposed by Cllr Colin Taylor calling upon SCC's Executive to ensure that local residents in the West Ewell and Ruxley areas can continue to access the various essential services in Ewell village and Epsom town by public transport.

Residents Party withholds support from Hospital Campaign
Moves for Epsom & Ewell council to join with other local councils in challenging the Government decision to build the proposed new Critical Care Hospital at St Helier were blocked by the ruling Residents Party at the recent meeting of the Borough Council. Despite various attempts by Lib Dem Councillors Lionel Blackman and Jonathan Lees to debate the issue, rules of procedure were used to prevent the matter being discussed.

Dundee LibDem parliamentary spokesperson condemns decision on Grampian TV
Dundee East Liberal Democrat parliamentary spokesperson Dr Clive Sneddon today (Friday 3rd March) added his voice to the condemnation of the decision by SMG, the owners of Scottish and Grampian TV, to scrap the name of Grampian TV, the local broadcasting service for the North East of Scotland including Dundee.

New Lib Dem leader to greet party today at the Spring Conference
Sir Menzies Campbell is to make his first appearance in front of his party as leader, a day after his leadership election victory. Sir Menzies, who has vowed to be more than "a safe pair of hands", will address a rally at the start of the party's spring conference in Harrogate. Sir Menzies will make a short address on the stage at a conference rally on Friday evening, ahead of his key speech on Sunday. He will share a platform with three of the party's recent by-election victors and will rally members for the local elections in May.
