Temporary Road Closures: Grace Hill, New Street and Bradstone Road, Folkestone (19 - 21 July)
Kent County Council has given notice that from 19 July 2010 for a period not exceeding 5 days, Grace Hill, New Street, and Bradstone Road, Folkestone will be closed to through traffic. Grace Hill will be closed from the roundabout extending through New Street to include Bradstone Road up to the junction with Clarence Road.

Trading Standards Alert: Scam mailings
Kent Trading Standards are warning of a scam mail being sent out telling people that they have won a substantial amount of money and that all they have to do is to order an item from a brochure enclosed with mailing. They are then promised that the cheque will be in the post. They won't. THIS IS A SCAM.

Thousands of new members join Lib Dems
Lib Dem party membership grew by a remarkable 14% in the first half of this year, according to official figures released by the party in England. Thousands of new members have joined the party since the election and the coalition agreement was reached, with the party also having greater success in retaining current members than in previous years.

Farron calls on coalition Government to overhaul Rural Payments Agency
News that Defra's failure to implement the Single Farm Payment properly in 2005 has cost the UK taxpayer £161 million has been described by South Lakeland MP, Tim Farron, as "damning evidence" for a drastic overhaul of the Rural Payments Agency.
