Childcare Prices Rise by £255 in a Single Year in Wirral Liberal Democrat analysis of the figures in the 2022 Coram Childcare Report and the 2023 Coram Childcare Report show a £ 255 rise for parents paying for 25 hours of childcare a week. The figures show an average rise for parents in Wirral of £ 6.13 a week for children under 2, meaning an annual rise of £318.76 and an average rise of £4 .33 a week for children 2 and over, meaning an annual rise of £ 255.16. Liberal Democrats said the figures showed the Conservatives are neglecting "cash-strapped young parents" who are seeing their income squeezed even more by the cost of living crisis.
