These included the tightening of the immigration regulations and its impact on the catering industry, the cost of higher education and the lack of housing support for Chinese elderly.

Chris Huhne launches 'The Green Deal'

Liberal Democrat Energy and Climate Change Secretary, Chris Huhne has announced that by 2015 up to 100,000 Green Deal workers could be employed in the effort to upgrade and insulate Britain's homes. The Green Deal was a Liberal Democrat manifesto commitment and is now the Government's new and radical way of making energy efficiency available to all, whether people own or rent their property.

A new investment plan launched by Government Minster Lib Dem Vince Cable has safeguarded the future of Shepway's Post Offices. Record numbers of Post Offices were closed under the Labour Government, including the main Folkestone Post Office and sub post offices in Enbrook Valley, Littlestone, Saltwood, Seabrook and Royal Military Avenue, Shorncliffe.
