        Stamford LibDem Mayor, Cllr Maureen Jalili, hosted a delightful Georgian Afternoon for neighbouring civic heads, councillors and visitors on Saturday 31st January 2009. Civic Heads attending included Lincoln, Huntingdon, Rutland, Northampton, Spalding, March and SKDC. The day commenced with a guided tour of Stamford's magnificent stone buildings by Blue Badge guide Jill Collinge. This was followed by a Georgian Afternoon Tea, prepared and served very professionally by the students of New College Stamford who had thoroughly researched their subject and provided a wonderful array to tempt guests.
