South Lakes MP Tim Farron has welcomed the news that the Chancellor has agreed to freeze fuel duty but he is working for a fuel duty cut through a fuel derogation scheme.
So the Tory Councillor in charge of housing in the Borough is reported in this newspaper as saying he would prefer new homes in the Borough to be sold on the private market "because you generally get people who would pay a higher price and rely less on public services."
