Mike Treleaven calls for changes to planning laws to allow more affordable houses to be built
Speaking at the Liberal Democrat Spring Conference in Harrogate earlier today, Totnes Prospective Parliamentary Candidate Mike Treleaven highlighted the problems caused by the lack of affordable housing in the constituency and backed calls for radical changes including an overhaul of the planning laws. Leicester Hospitals 9th in cancelled operations league
New figures revealed today by Parmjit Singh Gill, Member of Parliament for Leicester South, show that the University Hospitals of Leicester Trust has had 715 cancelled operations so far this year. This means the Trust ranks 9th highest in the country for last minute cancellations for non clinical operations in the whole country.

Operation Stack or Operation Stuck?
Lib Dem campaigner Peter Carroll is writing to the Chief Constable of Kent to demand that Operation Stack be changed. Peter said, 'Literally hundreds of local residents are having their journeys home completely ruined by Operation Stack. I understand that Stack has to run in some form. However, I do not believe that the WHOLE motorway needs to be shut down. I am asking the Chief Constable to examine if it is possible to keep at least one motorway lane open.'
