Following my assertion in my last column that I wanted Charles Kennedy to continue as leader, its best we avoid comment on the leadership contest. Lembit Opik MP backed Charles, backed Mark Oaten and is now publicly not backing anyone in order to avoid an asteroid hitting their campaign - I know how he feels!
Paul Holmes MP has backed a Commons Motion in a bid to save many of Britain's safe herbal remedies from being wiped from the shelves of health food stores. In doing so, he has earned the thanks of local consumers who use herbal products and national organisation opposing these unnecessary EU restrictions.

Dundee Liberal Democrats have welcomed the news that figures released yesterday (30th January 2006) by the Scottish Executive show that there was an 8% decrease in the number of people killed in road accidents in Scotland from the 2003 to 2004 figures; the second lowest figure for 50 years.
