Campbell challenges Brown over Tax Credit system

At Prime Minister's questions, Liberal Democrat Leader Sir Ming Campbell challenged Gordon Brown on the tax credit system which had been set up when Mr Brown was still in the Treasury. Sir Ming stressed that the "money wasted" by fraud and error was heading towards £9bn and there were two million families whose lives had been "made miserable" by these errors. The Prime Minister tried to justify the tax credit system by arguing that it was the "most successful" policy for reducing child poverty and that the Labour party had done a lot in government to end child poverty.

Zahid Shah continues his calls for a clean up in St Peters Ward

St. Peter's Liberal Democrat campaigner, Zahid Shah, is continuing his campaigns to get the Ward cleaned up. Now he is highlighting graffiti which disfigures many walls in the ward. Zahid has asked the City Council to organise a clean up and sent them a list of some of the worst places.

Time to set aside set-aside, says Farron

Tim Farron MP has called on the EU to abolish set-aside immediately following the recent poor weather and floods across the UK and northern Europe. Mr Farron has submitted a Parliamentary Early Day Motion calling for its abolition and hopes to win support from MPs from all parties.
