Carroll Opposes Airport Expansion

At a packed Public Meeting in Greatstone on Wednesday 16th March, Peter Carroll set out why he opposed the major expansion of Lydd Airport. Over 200 people attended the meeting. Many local people expressed their opposition to the plans. A sizable number of people who attended had links with the airport and they set out why they thought the expansion was a good idea.

Budget Little More Than A Sticking Plaster For Election - Kennedy

Responding to the budget, Liberal Democrat Leader, Charles Kennedy MP, said "We are lucky in this country. Britain has the 4th largest economy in the world. So how can it be right in Britain today that the poorest 20% pay more in tax, as a proportion of their income, than the richest 20%? Over the last eight years the Chancellor has tinkered an awful lot, but he has failed tackle fundamental unfairness in the system. This budget is just more of the same. "

Rochdale raises the flag for St Patrick!

Having already had the hugely successful family fun day at Richmond Hall last Sunday - Rochdale is marking St Patrick's Day by flying the Irish Flag on Rochdale Town Hall. Leader of Rochdale Council - Cllr. Paul Rowen will be joined in a special ceremony to raise the flag this Thursday at 9.30am with Mayor - Cllr. Angela Coric and Mayoress Kath Rowen-Pennington.

Antony Wood Delivers Meals on Weels

Prospective Parliamentary Candidate, Local Resident and Clewer South Councillor, Antony Wood, was in Ascot again last Thursday, helping out at The Chandler Centre. The centre, run by Heather Hogben, provides a social forum and care services for the elderly.
