Large quantities of derision were heaped onto Wiltshire Council earlier this year when health watchdog the Wiltshire Involvement Network was banned from working with the council after the use of the phrase 'jungle drums' at a meeting the previous August.

Mere houses blighted by bureaucracy

Wiltshire council southern area planning committee is being asked to consider amendments to a scheme which was meant to provide low-cost housing for local people. Six houses in Downside Close are covered by the scheme. Three were completed in 2009, of which two have remained empty since then, and three more are just being finished.

Another Wiltshire school closes

Wiltshire Council wants to close Grafton school. The primary school was the smallest in the county with just 12 pupils this term, and with no sign of any more coming in as local parents have sent their children elsewhere.
