Our local Police force is going through major changes. Already many Police Stations including Heswall and Hoylake have closed. At the moment Police Officers and PCSOs covering Greasby and Frankby are operating from Upton Police Station and that is expected to continue. With the closure of Heswall Police Station Police Officers and PCSOs covering the Irby area are currently based at Bromborough. We understand that they are likely to transfer to Upton Police Station.
A planning application has been put in to build four two bedroom bungalows on the land by the roundabout.
Early in the summer more than 20 lighting columns in Greasby were cut down by Council contractors Colas. Whilst carrying out maintenance Colas found that the columns were in a very poor or dangerous condition. They cut down the columns to a safe height. Council Officers have checked to make sure that the lamp posts, which have now been replaced, really did need to be cut down.
