​CHAOS GREETS NEW TRAFFIC LIGHTS ON GREAT NORTH ROAD The new traffic lights on Great North Road/Regent Centre Metro/ASDA/M and S roundabout went "live" this morning. The result from all reports seems to be chaotic, with big tailbacks where none were experienced before. Your Liberal Democrats have already been onto Council officers, who are sending out engineers this over rush hour this afternoon and tomorrow with computer monitoring equipment​ so the phasing can be adjusted. FULL COUNCIL Tomorrow evening the monthly meeting of Newcastle City Council takes place. Liberal Democrats will be putting forward motions or amendments on small businesses, mental health and dogs. On the subject of which, congratulations to Gosforth-headquartered Greggs has been appointed to a new advisory board on the Prompt Payment Code, which will be tasked with helping ensure suppliers are paid on time and treated fairly.
