M20 Junction 10 Improvements Completed

A £7m scheme to upgrade junction 10 of the M20 at Ashford, Kent to allow it to cope with increased traffic from new homes has been completed. The scheme involved the widening and creation of extra lanes and the construction of a new bridge.

Farron calls on Health Minister to send Review back to drawing board

Local MP Tim Farron has today issued the Department of Health Minister Anne Keen with a request to send Westmorland General Hospital's Acute Services Review back to the drawing board. Speaking in a Westminster Hall debate, Mr Farron stated that the Review had been plagued by a "catalogue of maladministration, procedural flaws, management failures and broken promises".

Cycle bid considered for final!

At 10am today (Tuesday 23 October), the final shortlist of four projects were announced for £50 million of Lottery money. The projects were: the Connect2 project, coordinated by the walking and cycling charity Sustrans, Sherwood Forest, the Eden Project in Cornwall and the Black Country Urban Park.

Hospital boss considered for job scandal!

A woman in charge of an NHS trust where 90 patients died in a superbug outbreak was interviewed for the job of running four hospitals in Greater Manchester including Rochdale Infirmary. Rose Gibb resigned as chief executive of the Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust on 5 October before the publication of a critical report.
