Lib Dem surge in LGBT polls
The latest in a series of opinion polls of the lesbian, gay, bi and trans communities shows a big surge in support for the Liberal Democrats, attracting the support of more than half of LGBT voters. "This reflects the long record of the Lib Dems as the leading party on LGBT issues, as highlighted in our 'Always' campaign." says Delga exec member Jen Yockney. "But it also reflects the popularity of Nick Clegg and our party's wider message of fairness. This election is a real three-party contest and many voters - LGBT or not - are recognising that this time around a Lib Dem vote has real impact."

Mayor Dave Hodgson Criticises Government's 'Arbitrary and Unreasonable' Approach on Gypsy and Traveller Pitch Targets
Mayor Dave Hodgson has criticised the Government over the process which has resulted in Bedford Borough being forced to accept a requirement for Gypsy and Traveller pitches in the Borough which is two-and-a-half times the independently assessed need. Mayor Hodgson has attacked the arbitrary target, stating that it bears no relation to the needs of the Borough, its local neighbourhoods, or of Gypsies and Travellers

Lib Dems concerns proved right by Tory Leader of Kent Council
At the last full council meeting, Liberal Democrat councillors presented a motion on the possible devastation to the County's schools due to proposed Tory party policy. The conservatives rejected the motion and refused to even acknowledge any problem with their party's policy.

Nick Clegg launches Liberal Democrat environment manifesto
The proposals include a £3.1bn green economic stimulus package, plans to slash energy use and improve energy efficiency, and a UK Infrastructure Bank to embed green investment for the long term. Commenting in the Guardian, Friends of the Earth executive director, Andy Atkins said: "They (The Liberal Democrats) have the most ambitious and integrated environmental commitments of the three main parties, with Labour and the Conservatives lagging behind."
