Following on from the recent opening of a brand new medical centre at the popular Church Lane Development, Mayor Dave Hodgson joined local Liberal Democrat Ward Councillors and others to mark more good news for the site recently, as works began on the construction of a new Iceland store. The new store is being constructyed at the oppostie end of the redeveloped site from the Aldi store, and will be open as early as this summer.
We have just learned that Malvern Hills District Council has agreed to give £220,00 to Malvern theatre this year to pay for LED lighting, which will reduce costs. How can Malvern Hills do this whilst Bromsgrove cuts its Artrix funding by £60,000?

The latest upgrade to Bedford Borough Council's leisure facilities being delivered as part of a £3million upgrade programme has been opened by Mayor Dave Hodgson. Mayor Dave opened the newly-refurbished driving range at Mowsbury Golf and Squash Centre in Bedford recently and, as shown in this photo, received a few tips from club professional James Koncewicz while he was there!
There will be a meeting at the Council on Thursday 26th February at 7:30 pm where Ric Brackenbury's challenge to the decision to consult on building on 3 green spaces on Springfield and Downs Barn will be considered. The original decision was taken by the Labour Cabinet member but this committee meeting will involve councillors from all political parties. They will decide whether to ask the Labour Cabinet member to reconsider his decision. The meeting is public - anyone can attend.
