Hertfordshire Home Safety Service

Hertfordshire is one of the safest counties in England and Wales but when crimes are committed, the victims still suffer. Just hearing about crime can make others feel scared. Hertfordshire Home Safety Service (HHSS) helps by providing a range of free and low cost services, using Proceeds of Crime funds. This means money recovered from criminals will go directly to helping secure your homes and making you feel safer.

Speed enforcement in Marton and Worthen

Police are going to start a speed enforcement campaign in the villages of Marton and Worthen after numerous complaints by residents and their Shropshire Councillor - Heather Kidd. Heather said "Both villages have straight stretches of road running through them and this encourages the responsible few to drive at speed. We have even had instances of lorries passing Worthen school at 50mph. "With the support of local residents and the two parish councils, I have persuaded Shropshire Council to place a number of signs to remind motorists including a number of new ones in Marton the other week. Our local police are now going to run a number of enforcement sessions in both villages."
