In the current financial year the roads in Lily Crescent and Fern Avenue have been repaired. Following discussions with officers, the Lib Dem ward councillors have decided to use the £150,000 allocated to the ward by the City for 2011/12 for repairs to the pavements of North Jesmond Avenue and Highbury. Part of the roadway of Jesmond Dene Rd as well as the back lane between Queens Terrace and Fern Avenue will also be repaired.
It is always pleasing when we can report on successful conclusions to issues we have raised.
Jesmond library is scheduled to close on Monday 14 March to allow improvements to the Community Room, provision of public toilet facilities, rewiring and the installation of new issue facilities. Many of the improvements will be paid for from the ward capital fund, following decisions made by the Lib Dem ward councillors. The total cost of the work is close to £80,000.
