Chelmsford continues to wait for public consultation on the Riverside

At July's meeting of Chelmsford Borough Council, Lib Dem group leader Mike Mackrory presented Roy Whitehead with a petition containing 1,250 signatures. These included over 20 current and former Olympic, World, European, Commonwealth and British national swimmers, divers, coaches and trainers. In particular, Great Baddow swimmer Rebecca Gallantree who (together with Tom Daley, the European Gold diving medallist and Olympic medal prospect) is representing Great Britain at the Olympic Games in Beijing.

Council will not act on Air Pollution

Epsom & Ewell borough council will not prepare any action plan to deal with air pollution levels in Ewell High Street "until we receive any dire problems", according to the Chairman of their Social Committee, answering a formal question at a meeting of the borough council on Tuesday 22nd July.

Cheriton Events Calendar web site launched

A new web site designed to act as a single resource to find events happening in and near the Cheriton and Morehall areas of Folkestone has been launched by local Councillor Tim Prater. The site - www.cheritonevents.org.uk - offers FREE listings of events open to Cheriton and Morehall residents, including for those under 18.

Tim Prater by overgrown path

Valebrook Close overgrown path reported

Cheriton Councillor Tim Prater has written to the East Kent Public Rights of Way Office to request that they take action to clear an overgrown footpath. The path which runs from Valebrook Close in Cheriton, Folkestone is now entirely blocked due to being overgrown with plants and weeds.
