Anger at Wage Cuts at Shropshire’s Council

Liberal Democrats on Shropshire Council have expressed their anger at the Conservative Administration for refusing to protect our low paid staff. The Coalition Government has made it clear that those earning under £21,000 should be protected and even have a small pay rise.

On the naming and numbering of streets...

Wiltshire Council's 'cabinet' set out the council's policy on street names and house numbering at its meeting on June 22nd 2010. This is one of the areas which used to be in the jurisdiction of the local district councils before their abolition.

Closing Blue Circle - Lafarge clarify plans

The Lafarge cement works was 'mothballed' in February 2009. In 2010 the company published their plans for total closure of the cement-making part of the works, though it continues as a distribution depot. Lafarge intends to maintain the site's cement mills for grinding and blending cement products using clinker transported from the company's other UK cement works.
