Westbury bypass - could it return from the dead?

Wiltshire Council still wants to build a bypass on the eastern route through the Wellhead Valley. This is despite the scheme having been comprehensively rejected by a government inspector in 2009. WC is attempting to safeguard the route as part of the Core Strategy - the planning document which will define development in the county for the next decade.

The need for legislation to secure the end of child detention in immigration removal centres

Child Detention for immigration purposes has ended - but it is a policy that could be changed by a different incoming government. It must be put into legislation to stop this happening, so PLEASE contact your MP, whatever party they belong to, as soon as possible asking for their support to this non party political event. Below is a draft letter you can send, and obviously amend it accordingly, especially if you cannot be there on November 28th. Probably easiest to copy and paste into an e-mail and follow it up with a phone call. Let us know the response that you get.

The Free Parking Deal: Two Hours' Free Saturday Parking Starts Tomorrow!

Tomorrow sees the launch of the Free Parking Deal for Bedford Town Centre. For the first time ever, free parking will be available in all Council-run town centre car parks for the first two hours of your stay, every Saturday. If you stay for longer, you will simply pay for the amount of time you stay after those first two hours.
