At that time the Conservative administration said that Mr Frater would be invited to review the Council's progress one year following the publication of his report.
A tea towel showing important images from Shortstown's past has been produced by the local Neighbourhood Watch. The towel has been funded by national developer Bellway Homes who are currently building the new Cardington development in the village and wanted to do something to help the community. Cllr Sarah Holland, Liberal Democrat, Eastcotts Ward, has been working with both the developer and the local community to make sure the benefits of the new development are felt by all in the village.
Cllr David Kendall and the Liberal Democrat group were unable to support the budget consultation being run by Conservative controlled Brentwood Borough Council saying it was "flawed" during a heated meeting of the Policy Board last week.
Bedford Borough Council is embarking upon a new campaign to rid the town of litter, graffiti, fly-tipping, and dog fouling on pavements and open spaces. The campaign will emphasise the cost to the taxpayer and also the detrimental effect upon communities.
10th August 2010 marks a very special anniversary. 99 years ago, Parliament passed the Parliament Act. This law limited the House of Lords' powers and formally committed Parliament to replacing the Lords with a democratic second chamber.
