The sheer quantity of raw sewage being dumped into Britain’s rivers and coastal areas is a scandal and a disgrace.
This morning I cut the ribbon at the opening of the New Aldi store, which completes the first phase of the redevelopment of the Church Lane Neighbourhood Centre, or rather 'Goldington Square,' as it has been renamed. It was a great event, with a real buzz about the place as a huge queue waited patiently for me to cut the ribbon in order that they could cross the threshold and get their first taste of the store!
Commenting on Labour's decision to oppose legislation for a referendum on the alternative vote, which was a commitment in their manifesto, Liberal Democrat Deputy Leader, Simon Hughes said:

A Kent County Council scheme is offering individuals and organisations up to 25 native trees each, free of charge. All you have to do is collect them, plant them and care for them as they grow.
The Transportation Team for Dover & Shepway is currently working on the Shepway District Cycling Plan. On the 5 July 2010 the Shepway Joint Transportation Board (JTB) agreed for the document to go out to full public consultation.
