The sheer quantity of raw sewage being dumped into Britain’s rivers and coastal areas is a scandal and a disgrace.
The Lemington Lib Dem campaign, led by Lawrence Hunter, to give us a decent bus service here was successful. We now have the service 13 which links South West Denton, Dumpling Hall, central Lemington, Lemington Rise, West Denton Park, Valley View and Lemington village to West Denton shops, also serving Newburn and Throckley.
Chelmsford Council is processing two major planning applications, and expects another, in the North West Chelmsford area. These include an application for 135 houses east of Patching Hall Lane/north of Essex Avenue and 223 houses south of School Lane, Broomfield. Another is expected soon for over 200 homes north of Copperfield Road. These applications were anticipated in principle following the approval by the Council of the North Chelmsford Area Action Plan in July.
Frustrated by the speed of traffic on London Road despite many measures implemented over the past few years, many due to Lib Dem campaigns, Cllr Nigel Clarke has submitted the following to the council to ask for action in slowing the traffic down:
Yesterday (Friday 7th October), on the day the First Minister opened the refurbished Dundee College premises, two leading Dundee and Angus councillors met with Dundee & Angus Chamber of Commerce regarding their joint concerns at huge cuts to the college budgets at Angus College and Dundee College.
The Village Tour 2012, or '60 in 30,' is now over, and I want to thank everyone who came out to speak to me at the 60 mobile surgeries across 60 villages in September's 30 days. The fact that so many residents talked to me to share their views on the important matters for our communities was very much appreciated, as was the welcome I received. A variety of weather conditions were experienced, and I am particularly grateful to those who braved wet and windy evenings or sweltering afternoons (we had both of these extremes, and plenty in between!) in the cause of taking the opportunity to talk to me directly while I was in the neighbourhood.
