Cllr Heather Kidd has called on Shropshire to undertake a concerted review of housing and service needs after the publication of a report, this week, that showed that the number of older people in areas like South Shropshire might grow by 40% in the next decade. Heather explained "The report by the National Housing Federation is a serious wake up call for areas like ours. This study predicts that the number of affluent elderly people retiring to areas like ours will continue to rise putting greater pressure on housing and services."

Balderstone Park play scheme is to be extended, thanks to the hard work of local ward councillor Pat Colclough, the Friends of Balderstone Park and the Vision for Kirkholt team.
