Peter Phillips Lib Dem Councillor for Bishops Castle has called on Shropshire Council not to prolong the agony on key services such as meals on wheels and mobile libraries and hold their reviews sooner rather than later. Following revelations that these reviews may not report back till the summer Peter said "There are many elderly and vulnerable residents in our communities that care a great deal about these services and have been badly frightened by the Council's threatened cuts. The Council should do the decent thing and skip the bureaucratic niceties and speed up the process so that people cant find out what is proposed."
Following the decision to press ahead with closing King Edward VII in Melton and the Government's announcement that Leicestershire will not receive BSF funding for Loughborough, the Liberal Democrats have put down a motion to the next full Council Meeting.

The H1 bus service from Loughton to Harlow no longer runs on weekdays and there are only four H1 buses each way on Saturdays. Residents who need to go to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow will have to use the 55 service on weekdays. Not that either service actually takes you right there, as buses go only as far as the bus station.
