Talking to residents across the different parts of the Borough, it is clear that a common concern for our communities is speeding traffic. Speeding motorists can blight our neighbourhoods, endangering themselves and other road users and pedestrians. I have made tackling speeding in our communities a priority, and am committed to taking real action to make our roads safer. I've launched a Speed Limit Review which is likely to see a string of problem roads, especially those in residential areas, have limits reduced. We are also looking into the use of average speed cameras which would be easy to move at short notice to tackle speeding hotspots and make a real difference in bringing speeds down and taking enforcement action. Talking of enforcement action, this is of course the responsibility of the police, and I am working with the police to ensure effective enforcement takes place across the borough.
