Sir Menzies Campbell today completed his Liberal Democrat Shadow Cabinet reshuffle. As well as a number of MPs keeping their position Sir Menzies has taken the opportunity to promote some of the MPs that won for the first time last May into the Shadow Cabinet.
Sir Menzies highlighted the apparent confusion in Whitehall over the Government's ability to meet emissions targets. Sir Menzies pointed out that "the Department of Environment says we must, the Department of Trade & Industry says we can't.' He added, 'Who is right, and who is going to win?"

Cllr Michael Headley is pushing the Borough Council to bring in new planning rules for developers. New rules for larger developments would mean that rubbish from demolition and building works would have to be dealt with in an environmentally friendly way, including re-use where possible. It would also require new houses to have recycling facilities provided and bottle and recycling banks built on larger developments.
