Bradley Road offices to go for housing

In response to probing from Trowbridge councillor Jeff Osborn, Wiltshire Council has conceded that the old District Council offices are to be redeveloped as a housing estate. WC says the abandoned buildings are costing £450 per day in rates to keep empty, so it's worth demolishing them as soon as possible so the site becomes zero rated.

WC cuts buses after parking bungle

A year or so ago the council doubled car parking charges in Wiltshire towns, promising that the extra profits would be used to support bus services. The Conservative administration failed to realise that doubling your prices doesn't mean you double your income - people used the car parks less.

Too many pupils with symptoms of depression or anxiety are let down or ignored, claims charity MindFull. It has launched a new online counselling service to support and advise 11- to 17-year-olds.
