Bedford Borough Liberal Democrats have reacted with grave concern to the news that a further two locations in Bedford, on Ampthill Road and Goldington Road, are suffering from excessive levels of nitrogen dioxide.
Liberal Democrat campaigner Gary Fuller, who recently tackled a Shepway Council officer on the issue of visible policing, expressed his shock at discovering that, according to Kent Police's own figures, over 20% (1 in 5) of all crimes committed in Shepway occur in Harvey Central Ward, which has only one community police officer for over four-and-a-half-thousand people.

Rumours of changes to the 500 bus route which would end the service through Centre Drive in Epping have alarmed local residents who rely on the service to get from Ivy Chimneys and Centre Drive to Epping High Street, the hospital and the doctors. A petition calling on Arriva to maintain the service is to be submitted to the bus company.

Heywood Councillor Peter Rush has added his voice to those wanting to see the banning of over the counter sale of fireworks in the Borough. Councillor Rush's call came just months after a Motion went to Rochdale Council making the same call.
