The sheer quantity of raw sewage being dumped into Britain’s rivers and coastal areas is a scandal and a disgrace.
Today Gordon Brown finally called the General Election for Thursday May 6. This election is a chance for real change for Britain - not change for change's sake but real change that works for you. Only the Liberal Democrats can deliver that change.
Prime Minister Gordon Brown has been to Buckingham Palace to ask the Queen to dissolve Parliament, which will trigger a General Election on 6th May. The Liberal Democrat campaign in Folkestone and Hythe is already underway, with leaflets being delivered to thousands of homes across the area. Lib Dem Lynne Beaumont is predicted to be the only serious challenger to the Conservatives in the constituency, with bookmakers Ladbrokes rating both UKIP and Labour as 100-1 rank outsiders.
Now the General Election has been called for 6th May, you can easily show your support for the Liberal Democrats in Folkestone and Hythe by agreeing to have a garden poster for the campaign. The Liberal Democrats will erect the poster on your behalf and take it away after the election.
As Gordon Brown announces the start of the general election campaign, local Liberal Democrat campaigner Michael Mullaney is fighting to win Bosworth.
"High speed rail is hugely important, but it is only part of the 21st century rail network Britain needs. Our plans will reopen thousands of miles of track across the country and make our railway great again," said the Liberal Democrat Shadow Transport Secretary.
Liberal Democrat Candidates welcome today's announcement that after months of dithering Gordon Brown has finally had the courage to announce the date of the General Election - Thursday 6th May.
