Parkdale patrols stepped up
Thanks to the insistence of the Liberal Democrat Focus Team police patrols have been stepped up in the Parkdale and Malcolm Court areas. Residents in the area have asked for Councillor Robin Lawrence and Councillor Claire Darke's help in reducing levels of anti-social behaviour, particularly drinking alcohol.

For the national media and those in the Westminster "Village" these events are the meat and drink of political reporting. Every slight slip of the tongue becomes an attempted coup and every frown a snub.

Pressure pays off as Government to end 'rain tax storm'
The Government has announced that it will now intervene after local community groups, churches and Rochdale MP Paul Rowen had campaigned against the so-called 'rain tax' which saw water bills rise as much as 1400%.
