The Coalition Government brought in some well needed reforms to the delivery of public health programmes and the provision of public health services. Public Health is now the responsibility of the principal local authorities, like Hertfordshire County Council. Money was taken from the NHS budget and given to these local authorities to finance their activities.

Roodhouse demands assurances on town centre’s future
Paddox Cllr Jerry Roodhouse (Lib Dem) demanded assurances about the future of our shopping centre from the town's ruling tory group at this evening's cabinet meeting (18 August 2015). Referring to the tory proposals to drop counting the number of empty shops in the town centre he said "There should be a way we can compare ourselves against other towns".
