November Focus for Springvale Ward

The Springvale Focus Team is now delivering their 205th edition of Focus. The main stories are that the decision on a planning application for a huge banqueting suite on the land to the rear of Hilton Road, bordering Monmore Grange had been deferred. and councillors have started a campaign to keep some of the facilities of the former Parkfield School for community use.

Folkestone Primary Academy - Winners of the 2010 Folkestone Councillors' Football Cup

Folkestone Academy Primary School were the winners of the 2010 Folkestone Councillors' Cup football tournament held on Wednesday 3rd November. The football competition held The Stadium, Church Road, Cheriton, is organised by Cheriton Councillor Dhan Gurung, funded by Folkestone Town Council and supported by Charlton Athletic Community Support who provide coaches and referees for the day. Teams from Folkestone Primary Academy, Stella Maris, Morehall, Harcourt, Cheriton and St Martins in Folkestone were all taking part.

Recycling in Flats Update

North Heaton Councillors KAREN and DOREEN have secured agreement from the council to extend the popular recycling collection arrangements to residents of blocks of flats in the ward. Residents of the Spinney and Dene Court have previously had to make their own arrangements, but will at last be covered by new recycling facilities for their blocks. This has taken a while to agree but we're pleased it's now proceeding.
