MK Lib Dems Back the People's Vote Campaign

On Saturday 20th October a number of MK Lib Dems travelled down to London to support the People's Vote campaign. On the day it is estimated that over 700,000 people marched, the second largest protest this century, with only the Stop the War march with an estimated 1 million people being larger - which is another time the Lib Dems went against the government and media barons to fight on the right side of history!

The Peoples Vote March - Biggest since Iraq

Nearly 700,000 people attended the march to demand a people's vote on the final terms of any Brexit deal.. Earlier, the Lib Dem leader, Vince Cable, said "It was a tragedy this country is being divided by generation, the majority of his generation that voted to leave, taking the freedom away from young voters. There is no deal better than the one we have now. It is better for Britain and better for Europe," he said to cheers. All that is needed is the resolve of hundreds of millions of me

Groups were organised by local Liberal Democrats and by the Mole Valley branch of the European Movement; other independent marchers also joined the train at Dorking, Leatherhead, Ashtead and Epsom. It is generally accepted that about 670,000 people were on the march, representing over 1% of the entire UK population. Demonstrators came from all backgrounds, age groups and parts of the UK and large numbers had not taken part in a public demonstration before.
