Improved CCTV system catches vandals in the act

Over the past year a number of measures to have been put in place at West End to improve community safety and reduce anti-social behaviour and today the latest step was officially recognised when Eastleigh MP Chris Huhne visited the village to see the progress that has been made.

Disabilities 'should be in books'

Disabled children should be better represented in story books to increase children's understanding and awareness of disabilities, a charity says. Scope said there were 770,000 disabled children in the UK who had "virtually no role models in literature".

Bedfordshire County Lib Dems say NO 2 ID Cards

The Liberal Democrats on Bedfordshire County Council are calling on the council to resist the government's introduction of ID cards. Deputy leader of the Lib Dem Group Cllr Susan Gaszczak has put a motion to council to ensure that resident's data is protected and access to services will not require ID cards.
