Bedford Borough Council has failed to meet its own modest targets for increasing participation in both the orange bag and green bag recycling schemes. He said that he could see the "green" business rate working in the same way as some councils give rebates to families who insulate their homes. "We have to make things easier for companies that want to do the right thing," Said Mr Clegg. "The challenge of meeting Britain's energy needs was a choice between old technologies like gas, nuclear and coal, and "a green future" based on clean technologies."

First they withdrew support for the Children's Centre and Day Nursery in Hollymoor Lane. Then they delayed a decision on the future of the Mansion in Nonsuch Park for over 15 months, resulting in a lot of extra work. It is now hoped to invite tenders from interested parties later this year.
